Update on Nicola
Dear all,Nicola saw the surgeon on Friday and he says there may be a possibility of an operation on Thursday. They will need to do more tests this week and then they will decide, so we may not know right up until the day whether it will go ahead or not. The surgeon said it is very complex and they don't want to make things worse by attempting surgery if there is not a clear indication that it will help the obstruction. Please pray for wisdom for the surgery team as they make this important decision for us this week, thanks.
We had a lovely day yesterday at the hospital. Nicola's two sisters Alison and Hilary came over and we even managed a game of scrabble on Nicola's bed ( Hilary won) Nicola is now on a morphine pump and so her pain is much more under control and the terrible diarrhea is completely cleared up.
As we enter this week of tests, uncertainty and possible surgery my mind turns to a lovely song by Geraldine Latty, yet will I praise Him, based on Habakkuk 3: 17-19. God is good and we will rejoice in Him and we will trust Him with our lives whatever the outcome.
'Even though the fig trees have no blossoms and there are no grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails and the fields lie empty and barren even though the flock dies in the fields and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. The sovereign Lord is my strength! He will make me as sure-footed as a deer and bring me safely over… ’ Habakkuk 3: 17 – 19 (New living paraphrase)
Thanks for praying
With much love,
Phil

Hi - this is Lloyd Kinsley's big sister. I was chatting with Becks the other day and she told me of this blog, so I shall start reading it regularly. Becks often kept me informed.
One thing springs to mind, I often think that I won't see angels until heaven - if I get there. But just reading the most recent posts I believe that you most definitely can find angels here on earth - and Nicola is one.
I shall be praying for you all from now on.
