Update on Nicola

Dear friends,
I have just been speaking to Nicola and she has had yet another night of terrible diarrhea. She at last got to sleep at 6am and slept until 8am which is the longest she has gone without having to dash to the toilet for some time. She is still not able to eat and is on a drip for fluids, it seems like a very long time now since she was able to enjoy a meal. Not much happens in hospitals over the weekend but tomorrow they will do yet more tests to see if there is anything they can do for her.

Nicola's parents are staying with us at the moment with her sister Hilary from Lincoln (just for the weekend). Her other sister Alison came over yesterday and her brother Simon who lives in California is flying in on Wednesday. We are experiencing a superb level of support and love from family, friends and church and we are so grateful.

Nicola is still still as positive as ever and together we are trying to live out the encouragement of Paul in Romans 12:12 to 'be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.'

Much love to you all,

Phil

Phil and Nicola

I felt compelled to make contact with you today to tell you how much your blogs are appreciated. It is so hard to know what to do to show support at this time - but I just wanted you to know that so many people read your updates - and of course we are always inspired. Please be encouraged that your willingness to share with us does not go on deaf ears and definitely keeps us praying. May your spirits be uplifted this day by the heartfelt love going out to you and your family!
love,
Jani
