update from Philip

Dear all,
Thanks so much for your amazing love and prayers, we appreciate you much more than we can ever put into words.
When we went for radiotherapy yesterday Nicola was in such pain and discomfort that they admitted her, so now she is on 6 North ward of Charing Cross hospital. She has not been able eat or drink properly without being sick for over a week and so she has become dehydrated and very weak, also the morphine did not seem to be dealing with her abdominal pain. They now seem to think that she has a sub acute bowel obstruction and will observe her for a couple of days before deciding what to do next. I visited her this morning and the pain seems more manageable and she is now on a drip to rehydrate her.
Nicola's body is taking quite a bashing but the 'inner Nicola' is shining brighter than ever. Even yesterday when she had to have radiotherapy, several x-rays, a bone scan and an ultrasound and then wait several hours in considerable pain for a bed to be allocated, she was still smiling and listening with love to the stories of her fellow patients.

Every blessing,

Phil G
