Nicola's News

Happy New Year! We hope that 2008 is a good year for you.

I have started the year with a new challenge. I went to see the consultant at Charing Cross yesterday. Sadly the chemotherapy that I have been on for the last 3 months has not worked so I am going to stop having that. The cancer has now spread to my bones which accounts for the aches and pains I have been getting, the oncologist suggests giving me some radiotherapy which should help with the pain. I will go for a planning session in the next few days and then hopefully start treatment next week. Once it starts I will need to go every day (Mon - Fri) for two weeks. I can't say that I am sorry not to be continuing with the chemo as it was making me so sick, so there is a sense of disappointment that it has not worked but also relief that I won't have to go through another cycle. The radiotherapy shouldn't produce so many side effects and maybe my hair will start growing back soon (anyone need a wig?)

We do appreciate all your love and support and would ask for your prayers for this next phase: for stamina for me and for all of us as a family that we will continue to be aware of God's presence with us.

With much love from,
Nicola

Hello Garnham Family

Have just read the blog, am disappointed for you but am continuing to pray for you all.

It was lovely to see you yesterday, sorry I didn't get much chance to chat. I was making sure that everyone was fed etc and being a hostess.

James had a virus over Christmas so we didn't make it over to you on Christmas Eve for your 50th.

Hope to see you at house group tomorrow at Liz and Linda's.

Lots of Love

Richard, Jennifer, James and Daniel Wallington
