Update on Nicola

Dear all,
Nicola has been very poorly since the weekend. She has been in considerable pain, very breathless and too weak to get out of bed or even move much. It seems she may have an infection in her operation wound and they have also discovered that her liver is being damaged because she has been fed through her veins by TPN for so long now. She had a chest x-ray at midnight last night because her breathing was so bad, so we hope that they may be able to do something about that today as well as give her some antibiotics for her infection. When I phoned this morning she said that she slept quite well last night after the x-ray and the pain has eased as she is now on a morphine pump which gives a steady, constant supply.

The children and the rest of the family are being so very brave and supportive and as usual Nicola is showing us the way in this. Last night I kept coming back to His wonderful promise in Matthew 11:28 ...Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
