Nicola's News

Hi Everyone,

I was able to start my new chemotherapy regime on Monday so it is good to be pressing ahead with that again. Unfortunately I was quite sick yesterday and had to spend the day crashing out in bed but fortunately I am feeling a lot better this morning. I need to go for chemo once every three weeks this time so hopefully it will not be quite so time consuming.

I am really grateful for the opportunity to be able to take advantage of the new chemotherapy drugs and the anti-sickness medication. It has really brought it home to me how blessed we are when Rebekah has come back from Zambia saying that in Chikankata resources are so tight that even basics like oxygen and pain killers have to be rationed. There is no chemotherapy available there. Rebekah and her boyfriend, Doug have been raising money for Chikankata and we are planning to continue to support the hospital financially.

On Monday, before I started chemo again, our daily reading book had Lamentations 3:21-23 as a quotation at the top. This was the verse that God spoke to me through just before I started my first lot of chemo:

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
