Nicola's News

Hi everyone,
I had some good news when I went to the hospital yesterday. My haemoglobin has gone up to 11.5 after the blood transfusion so I can start on chemotherapy on the clinical trial on Monday 1st Oct. When my name was put into the computer for the randomisation of treatment I got the branch with monoclonal antibodies again. This means that as well as irinotecan, a standard 2nd line treatment for colon cancer, I will also be given a new drug which rejoices in the name panitumumab. This means that I will probably come out in spots again but it is great to have the chance to try one of the new agents. As before please pray for maximum effectiveness with minimum side effects.
We are going to go down to Paignton for the weekend before I start treatment next week.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
God is good.
Much love,
Nicola
