Nicola's news
Hi everyone,Here I am at home - I've been allowed out on weekend leave!
After many investigations, blood tests, barium meal, x rays, CT scan etc. then long waits for results the consultant came to see me yesterday. They have found another tumour in my pelvis but are unsure whether or not it has originated from my ovary or bowel, so I am booked for surgery next Thursday so they can get a better idea of what is going on. Unfortunately this means that I will not be able to continue on the clinical trial, but will probably have another sort of chemo. This is disappointing for us all but we believe that God will work good from it.
I asked if I could come home until Thursday but they would only allow me to be away for the weekend, as long as I am 'sensible' (I'm not sure what that means!)
In the mean time I am loving being at home for a couple of days and all the family are here at the moment which is wonderful.
Abigail arrived back from South Africa on Thursday where she has had a great time at Roots and then on a mission in Port Elizabeth. Rebekah is leaving for Chikankata hospital in Zambia on 8th August for her 10 week medical elective. Hannah is going to summer school today for a week. Sam is keeping himself busy with trips to the cinema, fishing, playing football etc.
Thank you so much for all you prayers, God is good.
With much love from,
Nicola

great to hear from you Nicola. Sorry things aren't working out as you'd hoped but as you say, God will work His best plan through it all. Enjoy your weekend of freedom - no wild parties though!!

Hi Phil and Nicola
Just to let you know you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. I (Julia) was at Chikankata hospital in February with a group from Roots and the International Development team. I had a fantastic time and met some lovely people. I'm sure Rebekah will enjoy her time there.
Love to you all.
Mark, Julia and Luke
