Nicola's News
Hi Everybody,Not very much news to report this week. I had a short dose of Cetuximab only on Tuesday and will (I hope) have my next long dose next Tuesday. It looks as thought I am going to have to go on Mondays for blood tests and Tuesdays for treatment until the next run of Bank Holidays is over. My toe is now healing up nicely - thanks to all those of you who have shown such concern over this small but significant part of my anatomy!
Philip and I have been reading through the Psalms together recently and I have been struck by the combination of realism and optimism that the psalmist expresses. A few nights ago I had a very vivid dream about being in an earthquake or landslide. I had a profound feeling that the landscape of our lives has changed forever. The next morning the reading was Psalm 46:
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging......
The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Interestingly the writer does not say that because God is our refuge the earthquake will not happen but rather that we do not need to be afraid when it does because he is with us in it.
Thank you Lord.
Hannah has her French aural today, her first GCSE exam. She would appreciate your prayers over the next few weeks. Rebekah has exams coming up as well.
Philip and his brother Colin are ploughing through all the paper work and sorting out that needs to be done following the death of Kath and George. Thank you for all your messages of love and support, they are really appreciated by us all.
Yours,
Nicola
