News from Nicola

I have just returned from the hospital where I was told that the scan results are very encouraging. My response to the treatment is 'excellent' (it's a bit like getting your school report) so the chemotherapy is going to continue as it has been. I will have another scan in 3 months time.
I must admit to having been a bit nervous about getting the results. It's great to know that the last 12 weeks of treatment have been doing some good and that I can carry on with the clinical trial. NICE (the National Institute for Clinical Excellence) have just announced that Cetuximab, the monoclonal antibody that I am being given, has not been approved for use in the NHS on grounds of cost effectiveness. I feel very blessed to be able to be able to get it free, courtesy of the drug company, on the trial.
Thank you so much for all your prayers, love, support and encouragement.
God is good!
Yours,
Nicola
