An update from Nicola
Hi Friends,All is going smoothly here and we are settling back into 'normality' after all the excitement of Christmas and New Year.
Rebekah and Abigail have gone back to uni, Hannah and Sam are back at school and I am getting into the routine of hospital visits. As from next week (22nd Jan) these will be every Monday.
At the moment I am feeling very well and coping with the side effects of chemotherapy, the major one at the moment is pins and needles in my fingers, especially when my hands get cold. This unfortunately means that I have to leave Philip to peel the potatoes and do the washing up!
I am going to have another CT scan in a months time and then when this is reviewed we will have a better idea of how well I am responding to the treatment.
Looking ahead to a new year when I have so many uncertainties has not been easy, I'm someone who likes to have everything planned well in advance and written in the diary. However God is teaching us many things about appreciating every day and making the most of every opportunity that we are given. Of course no human being can live for more than one day at a time, but it is easy to forget that sometimes. Having been reading about God's call to Moses Philip and I were reminded again that Moses wasn't given a plan, a map or a diary but he was given God's name and the promise of his presence. We can't ask for more than that can we?
Thanks for your continuing encouragement and prayers.
With love,
Nicola

Dear Nicola
It has been so lovely to catch up on news. Emma, our daughter, who is with her husband at the College in their first year - passed your e.mail to me.
You and the family have been very much in our thoughts and prayers these past months and we thank God for who you are.
May you continue to know His abiding presence, strength, healing and peace in your hearts.
Thank you for your comments on the blog. We are pleased to read how you are progressing and trust that your next scan will give positive results. Thank you also that your comments, particularly those on Scripture, are so encouraging to us.
May God continue to bless you and your family this year.
Graeme and Gwyneth
Dear Nicola, it is so good to hear about your progress and good spirits and I thank God for all that has been done. You have often been in my thoughts and prayers, especially when I have been giving my 'talk' on our experiences in Nigeria.
Richard's news following his latest trip seems positive. I'm curious as to who has moved on ...
My next-door-neighbour has just successfully completed a course of chemo and I hope that your test results will be just as hopeful. May you all continue to realise the presence and power of God at work in your life.
