An update from Nicola

I have been told today that I will be on a clinical trial which will give me a weekly dose of a new drug, a monoclonal antibody, which is not yet available on the NHS. This is in addition to the standard chemotherapy treatment. This is good news. We feel very positive about being part of the trial, not only for the possible benefits it may give me but also for the opportunity to contribute in a small way to the development of treatments for cancer in the future.
It does mean however that I may have more side effects and that I will have to go to Charing Cross Hospital every week.
Thank you again for all your prayers, love and messages of support. We will keep you updated on how I get on when I have the Hickman line inserted tomorrow (Tuesday) then the first dose on Wednesday.
