Nicola's News
Yesterday was a very long day at the hospital, we left home just after 8am and didn't get back until gone 8pm. This was partly due to diabolical traffic jams on the way and on the way home, partly due to a long wait to see the consultant and then when I got up to the day ward they were very short staffed so it was a long wait for chemotherapy. However it was all worthwhile. I had a good talk with the consultant and he is very pleased with my response to treatment, apparently it is comparatively rare to have a response this good (less then 20% of patients) so he is very happy to keep pressing on with the chemotherapy and antibodies. I thank God that he has answered all our prayers for maximum effectiveness with minimum side effects. Please do continue to pray that I will keep up the good response and be able to tolerate the chemotherapy well.
Also, maybe due to all the waiting around which seemed to bring out a 'Dunkirk spirit' in people, there was a very friendly and open atmosphere on the day ward. I was able to have quite a few good conversations with other patients and look forward to being able to meet up with them again at future appointments. At Raynes Park on Sunday we were thinking about all the different communities we belong to; the oncology day unit at Charing Cross has certainly become a big part of my life and is a very real community. Please pray with me that I will find opportunities for ministry there.
Thank you so much to those of you who have taken the time to post comments on the blog, to phone us, to send emails, texts, cards and letters, and most of all to pray. We do appreciate all the wonderful support we are having from friends and family.
Many blessings,
Nicola

Delighted to read that your consultant is happy with your continuing good results. Pleased that in what could have been a very frustrating day you have been able to see an opportunity for ministry. We will continue to uphold you and your family in our daily prayers. God bless
